Directions

  1. Prepare toppings and buns: wash lettuce and slice tomato; cut cheese into four slices if not pre-sliced; lightly toast buns on a grill or skillet until golden.

  2. Shape four equal patties from the ground beef (about 250 g each). Create a shallow dimple in the center to help them cook evenly.

  3. Season patties with a light sprinkle of salt and pepper. Brush maple syrup lightly on one side for glaze.

  4. Cook patties on a hot grill or skillet, about 3–4 minutes per side for medium, flipping once. In the last minute, place a slice of cheddar on each patty and allow to melt.

  5. Cook bacon until crisp in the same pan or on the grill, then drain on paper towels.

  6. Assemble burgers: spread condiment on buns, add lettuce, tomato, patty with melted cheddar, and two slices of bacon. Top with the other bun half.
